I won, I won, I won!!!

February 9, 2008

I won a fabulous kit by Jill D-Zines because I helped name it! Imagine my surprise when I opened my email and there was a link to this absolutely lovely and scrumptous kit! I love the elements and the colors.

Here’s a LO I did with it.

Other than that burst of creativity, not much else has happened today. I did take DD to the playscape and we saw a boy of about 9 or 10 fall. When he got up, there was a bend between his wrist and elbow and his wrist was bent at an odd angle. Have you ever seen any appendage point the completely opposite way from normal? It’s disturbing. DD says “Why’s that boys arm all pointed like this? (she twists her arm around).” I told her that it looked like the poor boy broke his arm. Accidents happen. It’s just unfortunate that some have to be so painful. I wish him well.

Excitement!!!!

There’s excitement all around!!!

I am going to participate in ADSR3!!!!! My teammate is Deb, and we are the Zany Moms! We have our blinkie.

I took some more pictures today. This one is of another little girl at the church. She really doesn’t smile often, so all her pics are serious or look as if she’s thinking “what the heck are you doing pointing that thing at me?”

These are from shots of DD. She wanted to go out and take pics with her valentine’s dog.

Here we were taking pics of her tossing her pup up in the air and trying to catch it. We had several attempts of the pup landing on the ground. Glad he isn’t real.
“Ready, Mom?”

Up he goes!

Where’d he go???

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

It was a fun day!

OK. I’m trying to get better at photography because…well….simple answer is because I like it. I have fun doing it. And I have a sense of accomplishment when I see good photos that I’ve taken. Hopefully, I can make a small business of it. Now don’t get me wrong. I know that I am not professional in any way. I watch America’s Next Top Model, and I can’t even begin to dream to be like those photographers.

I do like digital photos because I can alter those that I don’t think turned out exactly right the first time. I’ve altered some of the photos I’ve taken in the last week. The first on is of my SIL at her soccer game. (I still need to download a copy of the soccer schedule so that I know when next photo ops will be.) The second one is of a little girl at the church where I work on the weekend. The originals just didn’t pop at me. What do you think?

I just have to share this pic. We were on our way home and rounded the bend in the road and there he was. We actually circled back twice before we caught the pic, then he flew off.

Super bowl is tomorrow. We do have some people coming over, so we’ve been cleaning most of the day. I hope to either be scanning in pics or working on LO’s. I’ve thought more about creating my own stuff. I thought I would start with a mini kit. But there’s a problem….I’m not entirely sure what makes up a mini kit. Is there a certain number of elements and papers? Are there certain criteria that make it a mini kit as opposed to a full kit or mega kit? (Oh I get what a mega kit is.) Any advice from anyone who may have created their own on how you come up with a theme or a color palette?
