A new adventure

May 30, 2009

Last weekend I ventured out with a friend and her new band. Now bands are something I’ve never taken pictures of. Nerves were high on both sides. We took a trip around downtown Austin. We started at the fabulous blue tile wall off of 5th street. Then our adventure wound it’s way through tunnels and doorways and alleys. It was a fun shoot. All of us had a blast. I’m hoping for more shoots with these guys and possibly with more bands.

Comments are welcome.

Introducing Struck!!!!

Busy shoot weekend

May 25, 2009

I had two shoots this weekend. One was for a senior and the other for a band. Both were so much fun. I’m finished editing the first one, but have yet to edit the band shoot. That’s on my agenda for next week. The gallery is private, but here is a sneak peek.

I hope they all had as much fun as I did.

May Events!!!

OK, so I’m a little behind on presenting this news. We had a wiggly tooth. Wiggle….wiggle…front…back. Yes, you did see right. There was the word HAD. On May 1st the tooth came out. Our big 6 year old was just that - a big girl. Miss E is proud of what we now affectionately call her “tooth-hole”. And here is the “tooth-hole” for your viewing pleasure.

A little less obvious “tooth-hole”, but you can still see it.

While we were outside snapping the picture above, the pups went out with us. G was rooting around like a pig in the Spanish Dagger, which I did not think would make a great photo. C was in a very playful mood. He had better things to worry about than sissy’s “tooth-hole”. “Mommy, don’t you try to get it. I got my eye on you.”

He heard the neighbor mowing the lawn.

And this last one is random. I was just proud of the focus on this one.

Before and after

We do offer photo altering as one of our services. I thought I would give you a taste of the potential of your snapshots under my care. I took this one this past weekend. This little one is a mover, so I had to snap quick.

With some cropping, a few tweaks here and there, and a nice black and white conversion, this is the result.

Reviewing old files

I decided to take another look at the wedding I attended last month. I wasn’t the photographer, only an observer who had her camera along. Very casual and I had fun. I am happy with how these turned out. What do you think?
