Sneak peek!

August 22, 2009

Last weekend was a fun morning photoshoot. The L family was a blast to work with. We all had fun trying to get Miss R to smile. Here’s a sneak peek as they haven’t had a chance to see their gallery yet.

Weekend Fun!!

August 17, 2009

We decided to have a get together for local people who frequent the same forum. I really enjoyed myself. I learned new things, met new people, explored new realms of photography, and found new locations and got a better eye for shooting. I haven’t had time to edit much of them due to having an early morning shoot the next morning (I have to edit those photos, too).

I did venture into a little maternity shooting. M was a wonderful model. She had such a sweet smile and adoring husband. They drove all the way from San Antonio just to attend our get together! Here are a couple. I have a few more to edit from the mini session I did with her, so we’ll see what I post later.

Comments are welcome since this was my first attempt. There are a few other variations in the gallery.

Back to School Special

August 13, 2009

Summer is fading and school is almost back in session. You’ve found the right “first day” clothes, and made them sit through the much needed haircut. Now’s the time to capture the moment of them growing up and moving on to the next grade.

For the remainder of August and all of September, I’m offering a back to school special.

New clients qualify for 40% off their session fee!!
Existing clients qualify for 50% off their session fee!

Sessions are 1-2 hours long at the location of your choice. Multiple clothing changes are allowed within that time. (Prints sold separately.)

Miss E definitely suffers from PCS (Photographer’s Child Syndrome). Yesterday’s bribe was computer time and a soda in this 100 degree weather.

We went out yesterday because there was a hint of rain. That’s exactly what we got, a hint. Spitter, spatter, but not enough to soak anything.
She felt the first drops, and I told her she could play in them.

I guess she doesn’t like getting wet in the rain. (I decided to try my hand at a little texturing. What do you think?)

Miss E is such a sweet girl when she lets me take her pictures.

Productive day

August 2, 2009

I have been a bad blogger. My apologies to those who read. Let it be known that not only did I make a blog post today, but I was also productive in another way. I wanted to try my hand at a tutu. Those who know me know that I do have a problem with them. I don’t not like them. I just think that they are appropriate for certain occasions. If worn and used at the right time, my dislike subsides.

At first I asked Miss Munchkin if she would wear one if I made it for her. I got a solid, without hesitation, “NO!” I was not deterred. I went to the store and found the materials. I included her in the process and encouraged her that she has “mad skizzor skilz”. I also told her that we were going to make 2. Her friend will soon be the proud recipient of the second one. I was hoping that making this second one would increase my chances of getting them worn for photographs.

I told her that I needed to take pictures to see what it looked like. She promptly limited me to how many times the shutter could click. “You can’t take that many mom. I know how many you’re taking. I heard it click more than that many times.” Of course I tried to be sneaky, but I can’t sneak it by her.

It’s not completely done because I do have to sew some items but didn’t have thread. I was pleased with the outcome. I thinking the second one may come out a little better. You know, practice and whatnot. I am now committed to making the second one since the first one is almost hot off the presses and a matching one needs to be completed.

It needs to be pulled up a bit, but those of you who know her know that she doesn’t like to wear pants where they are supposed to go. You can tell she’s totally enthused here.

A little toning….

Just one more….please…. (see the plaid ribbon and the fuzzy top - still have to sew those - safety pinned right now….oh and the bottoms need to be trimmed)

Aaaaaaaaaaand we’re done…POOF she’s gone.

Hopefully more pics of the other one soon.
