So I haven’t been able to blog in a while because my nice webhost blocked my IP so I couldn’t log on. So of course I tried the request on their site to unblock, but that didn’t work. Like literally didn’t work. I clicked on their little button and nothing happened. No pop up, no new screen, no email, no form, no nothing. When I realized that I wasn’t going to get anywhere, I opened a trouble ticket. Now for some reason, my lovely webhost doesn’t like to respond to my trouble tickets. They finally got the issue fixed for me this week. Needless to say that I am in the process of moving to another webhost, if this current one will remove the Spam Protector from my domain registration so that I can get the email from the other webhost and approve the domain name transfer. Still waiting on that to happen and it’s been requested for a week now.
In the meantime, I’ll fill you in on what happened while I wasn’t able to blog.
February 17th, we lost our beloved Code to cancer. It was unexpected. We didn’t even know he had any issues. One day he became lethargic and wouldn’t get up. We thought he might have bloat, and as it was after vet office hours, I took him to the emergency vet. They did x-rays and the vet confirmed that he did not have bloat, but saw a mass in his stomach about the size of a bowling ball. She thought that it might have been related to the spleen and in about half the cases, tumors on the spleen are benign. She then took another x-ray of his lungs and saw multiple tumors there. Then we knew there was nothing we could do. I went home to get the Hubster and then we went back to say our goodbyes. He had lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks and wasn’t himself. Em requested we take him a rose from her, and the nurses allowed for us to leave it with him. We got his paw print to bring back to Em, and for remembrance.
He was our lovable lap dog (or so he thought he belonged in a lap)

Our playful gentle giant.

And he completed our family. He’s better now. Miss you, Codel Yodel.

After the passing of Code, something was missing in the house. Em decided that she wanted to get a new puppy. Not to replace Code, but to help us heal. So not as to take away from Code’s moment, I am posting one picture of 10 going on 11 week old Brewster (aka Demon-Dog, Damien, Diablo, Chomper, Sharktooth, Razorteeth, you get the idea – and Annoyer of Grace – poor Grace).
Welcome to our family little man.
